ON Voorne-Putten
Naturally, Brielle is a nice starting point for exploring the rest of the island of Voorne-Putten. Its beautiful coastline, green polders, wetlands and recreation areas mean that there's plenty to see and do.

If you're impressed by the history in Brielle, you should visit Hellevoetsluis. The harbour is more than four hundred years old and has a rich history, having been host to many famous historical figures including Piet Heyn, Michel de Ruyter and Napoleon.
The seaside town of Rockanje is great for a lovely day at the beach and the dunes towards Oostvoorne are beautiful: explore them by bike or on foot. You'll see why this area has been labelled 'most sustainable nature zone'.
If you like the polder, cycle towards Spijkenisse. The route will take you past images straight out of history, tranquil villages and several farms where you can buy the most delicious regional products. And in Spijkenisse, you'll find the opposite - the bustle of a town with a very special library, De Boekenberg, at its centre.
